pet Short for polyethylene terephthalate, a form of polyester that is often used as an exterior substrate for laminates due to its excellent tear strength, elongation properties and competitive price. Images and artwork are usually printed on the back.
OPP It is an abbreviation for Oriented Polypropylene. Due to its high price competitiveness, OPP is used as a substitute for PET. OPP can also have a matte finish. This laminate substrate is more prone to wrinkling when heat-sealed than other products.
VMPET Refers to metallized PET. The material consists of PET metallized with aluminum. It acts as a light and oxygen barrier and is often used in place of aluminum. It has a slightly smoother appearance than aluminum, but is slightly less effective as a light/oxygen barrier. But it's cheaper and more environmentally friendly.
