Differences between OCC Grades 11 and 12

There are some significant differences between OCC 11 waste paper specifications and OCC 12 waste paper specifications.

OCC 11, also known as OCC Class 11, primarily includes corrugated containers for paper recycling. They usually have kraft, jute or test linings and are sold the same.

The OCC 12 waste specification is also commonly referred to as the DS OCC or Dual Classification Corrugated Classification. This specific classification consists of different types of double corrugated containers produced in supermarkets as well as commercial and industrial facilities.

These double corrugated containers also feature jute lining, test lining, and/or kraft paper lining. These materials are specifically sorted to ensure they are free of cardboard and offshore corrugated materials, waxes and plastics. For OCC Class 12 materials, total waste does not exceed 2%.

Prohibited material in this category does not exceed half of 1%.
