The tubing anchor pulls and maintains tension on the tubing string during pumping, while jamming and preventing any separated tubing from falling into the well. It is used in most rod pumping applications where it is necessary to maintain tension in the tubing.

When installed with proper tubing tension, the anchor prevents the tubing string from moving during rod pumping operations. This results in increased oil production per pump stroke, which in turn extends pump, rod and tubing life and reduces pumping costs. The anchor incorporates an emergency shear release system that is easily adjustable in the field.
Tubing anchor lowering
1. Install the anchor in the tubing string above or below the pump. Rotate the pipe to the left to set the anchor catcher
2. Lower the tube to release tension and turn to the right while working the tube up and down slightly.
