With SiRF CGEE (Client Generated Extended Ephemeris) technology, satellite positions can be predicted up to 3 days in advance, providing CGEE startup time of less than 15 seconds in most cases without any network assistance. The micropower mode of the bu-353-S4 allows the receiver to remain in a warm-start-like state almost continuously while consuming very little power.
