Tunnel thrusters include thrusters with CPP or FPP. FPP tunnel thrusters (TF series) are equipped with variable frequency devices (VFD) to control speed and reverse; CPP tunnel thrusters (TC series) run at constant speed and change thrust direction by reversing the pitch.
The tunnel thrust system is mainly suitable for ships operating offshore or arriving at ports; it is also suitable for ships operating and serving near drilling platforms, requiring high maneuverability, reliable control and sufficient safety factor.
